Description
Hotel Sempione has been running by Family Nutini since first years of 1930. At that time it was called “Hotel Nettuno” and was located in the old Piazza Stazione (Station square). In 1932 the central train station of “Santa Maria Novella” was totally renovated by the team of Architect Giovanni Michelucci, who designed a new arrangement of the square. To the owners of the demolished buildings was given the opportunity to choose under other buildings near the train station. Mr. Natale Frosali the owner and Mrs. Giulia, his wife, chose a building, in Nazionale street at the number 15, that after renovation works was converted into a Hotel and called “Sempione Nettuno” to pay homage to the important Sempione railway tunnel. “Via Nazionale” is a very old and important Florentine street, and has been photographed several times by “Fratelli Alinari”, the oldest firm in the world in the field of photography. Later the Hotel was run by the second generation of this family, Mr. Giulio and Adriana Nutini. Nowadays after a total refurbishing in 1998, are the two daughters Mrs. Daniela and Mrs. Guya to carry out the tradition, with the help of Miss Giulia, Miss Claudia and Miss Benedetta, the forth generation. The third sister, Mrs. Nora, along with her husband and her son Corso, is running Hotel Apuana property of the family since 1921, in Versilia, a wonderful Tuscany see resort.
